The other side of the room, what is left of the benchwork where the peninsula was, soon to be 2 piers. The tracks will run along the wall and be street running modeled to have the feel of Commercial Street from when I used to roam it in the 70's. I will take specific details from that area and era and put them into the scene. More details to follow on that. Including my photos from the 1970's of Commercial Street.

I always thought Commercial Street would be a really cool theme for a layout or layout section. I thought about including this as an adjunct to me layout, but I could not leave that space unused by the main layout. Buildings, tracks in the streets, lots of details and such...should be nice! I think operationally it will be real neat too, with the yard and then heading out to serve the industries and the wharf.
I have always been fascinated by Commercial Streets operation and the look. I posted the track plan last night. I will be scanning some of my pics from the 70s and adding them in.
