A street level view of the Paper Mill. One other item I have been working on is car weathering. I have been weathering all of my rolling stock to some degree based the planned era of late 1980's for my operations.is line of MEC box cars are waiting for the treatment. Notice that the one on the left is freshly painted and has not had any weathering. The next 2 have weathering, but the trucks and wheels never were.

Washes,Chalks and various shades of browns and rusts depending on the location of the weathering. I reference actual photos of specific car types if I can find them to determine the effects I want. If you go farther back in the blog you can see other examples of cars I have weathered. A lot of people use and airbrush too. I used to use the airbrush for weathering but am happy with the effects that pastels give when used for lower road grime and dust. Setting up the airbrush is not really something I want to do in the room.
Low angle shots are always useful to get a feel for how things are looking - and this scene looks good. We get so used to that overhead view while we work and plan, sometimes it is fun and rewarding to get low and see how things look.
